empowering limited income families
one home at a time

Our Mission

MACLT was created to produce quality, affordably-priced homes for sale to limited income buyers in Ward County. Through a community land trust model, we will manage the resale of these homes to ensure:
the homes remain affordable for future limited-income households, &
the benefit of public resources used to create the initial affordability of these homes is preserved and leveraged forever.

How We Started

Minot Area Community Land Trust (CLT) was created in response to the flood of 2011, with generous support from disaster recovery resources.  As a 501(c)3-designated nonprofit organization, Minot Area CLT provides perpetually affordable home ownership opportunities to families in the area earning low-moderate income.

How it's Going

MACLT has recently been awarded funding through the State of North Dakota's Housing Incentive Fund that will allow at least 3 homes to be added to the MACLT homeownership portfolio over the next year. Opportunities are expected to launch by May 2024. MACLT also has 4 rental properties and 3 homes currently in it's portfolio.
